Do Glendale DUI attorneys offer payment plans?

Some do, some don’t. Many lawyers won’t take payments at all, or they’ll require a large down payment before they’ll agree to a plan. If your case is in one of the Maricopa County Justice Courts that cover Glendale — Country Meadows or Manistee — you’d serve your sentence at the Maricopa County Jail as well.

Which court will my Glendale DUI case actually be filed in?

This comes down to who arrested you. If a Glendale City police officer made the stop, your case goes to the Glendale Municipal Court. If it was Arizona DPS, a Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy, or an officer from a neighboring city like Surprise, Buckeye, or Goodyear, it’s filed in one of the Maricopa County Justice Courts that serve Glendale — most often Country Meadows or Manistee. Knowing which court you’re in matters, because procedures and even plea practices can differ between them.

I was investigated for DUI in Glendale but never arrested or ticketed. How long can this hang over me?

Arizona gives prosecutors up to one year to file misdemeanor DUI charges, and up to seven years to file a felony Aggravated DUI charge. If time has passed without anything being filed, that doesn’t mean you’re in the clear — it’s worth having an attorney check the status of your case rather than assuming it went away.

My blood was drawn after a Glendale DUI stop, but I wasn’t cited on the spot. Who’s testing it, and how long does that take?

For most Glendale-area agencies — with the exception of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office — blood samples go to the DPS Crime Lab for analysis. Once results come back, the Glendale City Prosecutor’s Office or the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office can take up to a year to formally file charges. That waiting period is stressful, but it’s also a window where the right attorney can start preparing your defense before charges even land.

My car was impounded after a Glendale DUI arrest. Where is it, and how do I get it back?

Not every DUI tow triggers a 20-day hold — check your tow sheet first to confirm whether your vehicle is actually flagged for one. If it is, and the vehicle is registered to someone else (a spouse, parent, or child), that person may be able to retrieve it early. If there’s no early release option, you’ll need to wait out the 20 days, but don’t wait longer than that: storage fees accrue for every day the vehicle sits in impound. Wait too long and the tow company can move to take possession of the vehicle outright, which can add a $500 abandonment fee on top of everything else, along with a separate driver’s license suspension from MVD. The Glendale Police Department Impound Unit handles release for city-arrested vehicles; if DPS or the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest, their impound procedures apply instead.

Will my mugshot from a Glendale DUI arrest show up online?

Only if you were booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail — in that case, yes, it typically will. If you were cited and released without a Fourth Avenue booking, no. I’ve recorded a short podcast on this exact question if you want more detail, and a transcript is available too.

Where’s the closest Arizona MVD office to Glendale, and does it matter which one I use?

It matters more than people expect — not every MVD office offers every service, and wait times vary a lot across the Valley. Check the MVD’s location finder and confirm the specific service you need (like reinstating a license after a DUI suspension) is offered at the office you’re choosing before you drive there.

What about the MVD Authorized Third Party (ATP) locations near Glendale?

Glendale now has several ATP locations, which can be faster than a full MVD office for certain transactions. Keep in mind they charge a convenience fee on top of standard MVD fees, and some only handle a limited menu of services. Check which ATPs are near you and what they actually process before you count on one for something DUI-related, like an interlock certification or reinstatement paperwork.
