More Affordable DUI Attorney Payment Plans

Important Considerations for Payment Plans:

• Do they charge interest for doing a payment plan on the unpaid balance? I do not charge interest.

• Are there penalties for not paying on time?  No penalties for my plans.

• Are there any penalties for prepayment ahead of time? I have no prepayment penalties.

• Are there penalties or payments or fees to change the terms of the agreement? My Plans do not, but believe it or not some attorney’s plans do.

• Does the plan provide advance notice before taking a payment? Most plans provide credit cards will be charged on the agreed upon date. For example on the 15th of every month. Does the plan give you notice before the payment is to be charged? I send reminder notices to my clients 1 to 3 days ahead of the date I will be taking the payment. I do not want my clients to get caught short. By giving a reminder notice the clients can make sure they have enough money in the account to cover the payment.

• If it is a flat fee, nonrefundable fee agreement does it say, “may be entitled to a refund if the agreement is canceled?” Any such agreements without those words are unethical.
