Hearing Stayed Pending Possibility of Alternative Access to San Bernardino Shooters iPhone.

3/22/16  A hearing scheduled today to determine the status of California USDC Magistrate Sheri Pym’s February 16,  2016 order to Apple, compelling the company to create software to disable the security features of the iPhone, has been stayed at the request of federal prosecutors.

Court documents filed yesterday revealed the FBI has been approached with a promising method of unlocking the encrypted iPhone of Syed Rizwan Farook, one of the perpetrators of the December 2, 2015 attack in San Bernardino, California, which killed 14.

Argument has been postponed and the order stayed; status reports in the matter are due April 5, 2016.
